Southern men, women win NCAA berths
It’s March Madness and all I have to say is “Let’s go Jags.” On Sunday while sitting in front of the television anxiously waiting to see who would be playing in the 2006 NCAA tournament, I was very pleased to see my 2006 SWAC champions, Southern University Jaguars among the name of the 64 team selected to play in this year’s tournament. The Jaguars are a 16 seed in their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1993 when they upset Georgia Tech. The Jaguars will face off against the number one overall seed in the tournament, the Blue Devils of Duke University.
Than later this week I encountered Déjà vu!! SU women to play Duke! Southern against Duke. Only the location, the date and the gender changes. The Southern women’s draw in the NCAA tournament was exactly like that of the men’s. This will be the Lady Jags third time appearing in the tournament in school history, all under Sandy Pugh.
The SWAC is traditionally known for being the lowest ranked conference among the NCAA. We won’t let that hold us down. It’s all about the Jaguar Nation Baby!!!!

GO PANTHERS!!!
Yep, thats right - I’m talking about the UW-Milwaukee Panthers (my alma matter) . I’ve got them going farther than last year’s Sweet 16 appearance. You heard it here first.

Everyone knew UWM was “one & done” except for Dr. Blog. When are you going to post on Cyclone Larry hitting Australia?
